The Summer School in African Politics will take place from July 1 to 3, 2026, offering an intensive, multidisciplinary program dedicated to the study of contemporary African politics. Sessions will be held in English from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Organized by the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Lisbon and CEI-Iscte, the initiative aims to provide in-depth knowledge on relevant and current political issues on the African continent, while promoting methodological skills for research in African contexts and supporting the development of academic and intervention projects.

The course is intended for graduate students in the social sciences and humanities—particularly those writing master’s theses or doctoral dissertations on African politics—as well as professionals and experts interested in the continent’s political dynamics.

Edalina Sanches and Ana Lúcia Sá are responsible for the scientific coordination.

Applications will be accepted until June 23, 2026.
