The director of Iscte’s Centre for International Studies (CEI-Iscte) has appointed a new deputy director, researcher Pedro Seabra, who will join the current board, composed by Ana Mónica Fonseca (director) and Giulia Daniele (deputy director). This nomination reinforces the commitment to academic excellence and interdisciplinary research on topics of global relevance and arises from the reinstatement of the initial team proposed for the current mandate, with the aim of strengthening CEI-Iscte’s position as one of the leading International Studies centres in Portugal.
The new deputy director, Pedro Seabra, has extensive experience in the field of international relations and political science, with a career marked by research projects and strong ties to academia. As well as being a CEI researcher and the current deputy director, he is also an Assistant Professor at Iscte-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. His new appointment to the CEI board aims to boost new initiatives that integrate the research areas already consolidated at the centre, as well as opening up new fronts for international and interdisciplinary cooperation.
