Procedimento concursal para a contratação de Investigador(a) Júnior, na área científica de Estudos Internacionais, atribuído no âmbito do projeto “Rapid elimination of invasive agricultural insect pest outbreaks by tackling them with Sterile Insect Techniques programs (REACT)” (Ref. 101059523), financiado pelo programa Horizon Europe, na modalidade de contrato individual de trabalho a termo resolutivo incerto, celebrado ao abrigo do Código de Trabalho, aberto pelo edital n.º 541/2024 de 23 de abril.
Este lugar visa o desenvolvimento de atividades de investigação no âmbito do projeto “Rapid elimination of invasive agricultural insect pest outbreaks by tackling them with Sterile Insect Techniques programs (REACT)” (Ref. 101059523), financiado pelo programa Horizon Europe. Especificamente, este lugar terá como foco a integração das ciências sociais na investigação em ciências naturais e aplicadas, e processos de consulta com stakeholders. No âmbito da coordenação do work-package 6, será necessário ter experiência na análise custo benefício de desenvolvimento agrário com enfoque em espécies invasivas nomeadamente moscas da fruta; impactos económicos, toxicológicos em ambientais de inseticidas. Para além das atividades de investigação, será necessário promover a ligação com as políticas públicas, policy learning, participação em redes nacionais e internacionais, publicar e disseminar resultados e análises, tanto no âmbito nacional como internacional, e estabelecer parcerias e colaborações institucionais, sobre os temas acima indicados.

A tender for recruitment of a entry-level doctorate-holder position is open at Centre for International Studies – Iscte, in the scientific area of International Studies, within the scope of the project “Rapid elimination of invasive agricultural insect pest outbreaks by tackling them with Sterile Insect Techniques programs (REACT)” (Ref. 101059523), funded by the Horizon Europe programme.
This position aims to develop research activities within the scope of the project “Rapid elimination of invasive agricultural insect pest outbreaks by tackling them with Sterile Insect Techniques programmes (REACT)” (Ref. 101059523), funded by the Horizon Europe programme. Specifically, this position will focus on the integration of social sciences into research in natural and applied sciences, and consultation processes with stakeholders. As part of the coordination of work-package 6, the candidate will need to have experience in cost-benefit analysis of agricultural development with a focus on invasive species such as fruit flies; economic, toxicological and environmental impacts of insecticides. In addition to research activities, it will be necessary to promote links with public policies, policy learning, participation in national and international networks, publishing and disseminating results and analyses, both nationally and internationally, and establishing partnerships and institutional collaborations on the above topics.
