A tender for recruitment of a entry-level doctorate-holder position is open at Centre for International Studies – Iscte, in the scientific area of International Studies, within the scope of the project “Rapid elimination of invasive agricultural insect pest outbreaks by tackling them with Sterile Insect Techniques programs (REACT)” (Ref. 101059523), funded by the Horizon Europe programme.

This position aims to develop research activities within the scope of the project “Rapid elimination of invasive agricultural insect pest outbreaks by tackling them with Sterile Insect Techniques programmes (REACT)” (Ref. 101059523), funded by the Horizon Europe programme. Specifically, this position will focus on the integration of social sciences into research in natural and applied sciences, and consultation processes with stakeholders. As part of the coordination of work-package 6, the candidate will need to have experience in cost-benefit analysis of agricultural development with a focus on invasive species such as fruit flies; economic, toxicological and environmental impacts of insecticides. In addition to research activities, it will be necessary to promote links with public policies, policy learning, participation in national and international networks, publishing and disseminating results and analyses, both nationally and internationally, and establishing partnerships and institutional collaborations on the above topics.

The tender is open from 24 April to 9 May 2024 and the applications must be presented in Portuguese or English and submitted at Iscte’s recruitment platform.
