On December 11, 2024, the book “Basic Income for Disasters and Climate Change in Africa: Agrarian Risk Reduction and Adaptation” will be launched by Sara Bernardo, who holds a PhD in African Studies from Iscte and is a collaborating researcher at CEI-Iscte.
The book explores innovative solutions for reducing agrarian risks and adapting to climate change in the African context, with an emphasis on the proposal for a basic income as a tool for dealing with disasters and climate challenges.
The launch event will be attended by Ulrich Schiefer (Iscte) and Joana Pereira Leite (ISEG), who will join the author to discuss the central themes of the book. The moderator will be Cláudia Leal (Televisão de Moçambique and RTP África), ensuring an enriching and dynamic conversation.
