Researcher Roxana Andrei (https://ciencia.iscte-iul.pt/authors/author-public-page-3755/cv), from CEI-Iscte, in co-authorship with Professor Mehmet Ulug, from Roskilde University, recently published an article in the Q1 journal Energy Economics, titled  “Energy transition under twin shocks: Geopolitical and macrofinancial risks”

The study explores how Composite Geopolitical Risk (CGR) and macro-financial pressure have driven the energy transition within the Greater North European Energy Corridor from 1990 to 2023, alongside the roles of economic growth and environmental innovation.

The article represents the outcome of intensive fieldwork with the leading energy and defence companies in the North Sear and the Baltic Sea, as well as with the European Defence Agency, and was written in real-time, in the context of the current geopolitical and hybrid warfare dynamics, bridging energy geopolitics and econometrics for the first time.

The article is available in Open Access and can be read in full here (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0140988325007765).
