Sobre

Body image and appearance became an important topic in the public agenda through the last years. Areas such as public health, media, public policies and social activism have been very active in the discussion about the consequences of living in appearance driven societies. This panel proposes a debate focused in body image and appearance issues, faced as a societal challenge and regarded from different perspectives.
This international conference benefited from the support of COST Action 1210 – Appearance Matters – Tackling the psychological and physical consequences of dissatisfaction with appearance. Cátia Miriam Costa; Researcher at the Centre For International Studies (ISCTE-IUL)
