We believe that scientific research plays a fundamental role in strengthening scientific culture and developing a more informed, critical, and participatory society. In addition to academic production, we value sharing knowledge with the community, contributing to public debate in key areas of politics and international relations.
Our team regularly participates in scientific dissemination initiatives, events open to the public, and activities aimed at young people, as well as collaborating with the media through interviews, opinion articles, podcasts, and other formats.

Ciência Viva Initiatives
Summer internships and visits to our center promote interaction with high school students and stimulate participatory debate on key issues in contemporary society. These initiatives seek to bring young people closer to research in International Studies and encourage critical thinking. CEI-Iscte actively participates in the “Ciência Viva no Laboratório” initiative organized by Ciência-Viva – National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture.
European Researchers’ Night
Participation in European Researchers’ Night helps raise public awareness, particularly among young people, of the role of research and innovation in Europe, promoting informed reflection on global challenges and the construction of a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Our research team’s perspectives contribute to furthering relevant issues on the media agenda and reflect the diversity of studies and projects developed at CEI-Iscte. Through interviews, opinion pieces, expert commentary, and other formats, our researchers actively participate in public debate.
