Applications with CEI-Iscte as the host institution

The Centre for International Studies of Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon (CEI-Iscte) announces that it is accepting expressions of interest for institutional hosting within the scope of the 8th edition of the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus call, promoted by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), aligned with one of the areas of its Research Groups: Global Politics and Security, Democracy, Activism and Citizenship, and Sustainable Societies.

Expressions of interest should be sent by 22 December 2025 to cei@iscte-iul.pt, with the subject line ‘Callto Stimulate Scientific Employment – 8th edition’.

The expression of interest must contain the following elements, in English:

  • Level for which you are applying (Junior | Assistant)
  • Curriculum vitae written in English
  • Scientific and curricular background in narrative format, written in English, highlighting the main activities and results obtained in the last 5 years or less in the case of junior researchers.
  • Career development plan, written in English, framing this application and highlighting its impact on career objectives and scientific goals to be achieved;
  • Title of the research plan and research plan, written in English, with the definition and contextualisation of the objectives and scientific questions, activities to be developed, expected results and the identification of the mission and scientific challenge to be framed within the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

Junior researcher – PhD holders for 5 years or less, counted as of the closing date of the application submission period, with reduced post-doctoral research experience in the scientific area to which they are applying.

Assistant researcher – PhD holders at the closing date of the application submission period, with a relevant curriculum in the scientific area to which they are applying.

The decision on whether the application has been accepted by CEI-Iscte will be communicated by email by 6 January 2026.
