At the beginning of November, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) released the final results of the Call for the award of Studentships for doctoral research 2024.
Iscte Centre for International Studies (CEI-Iscte) has been selected as the host institution for four individual doctoral scholarships funded by FCT. The aim of these scholarships is to boost research projects conducted by doctoral students in the areas of Sociology, Political Science, Communication and Urban Studies.
The projects supported cover central issues to face the challenges of the contemporary world, such as corruption in a democratic context, Afghan women in resistance movements, the protection of plant genetic heritage in the Mediterranean based on sustainable policies and the contribution of European Christian democracy to the democratic transition in Portugal.

In addition to these scholarships, CEI also received approval for two other scholarships from the Call for PhD Scholarships for PALOP + TIMOR LESTE (MCTES/MNE), by Sérgio Dundão (Linguistic unification in Angola: the role of the State and the Churches) and Carlos Bravo (Health communication and vaccination processes in Mozambique).
