The ‘Ciência Viva no Laboratório’ programme is an activity in which CEI-Iscte has participated for several years, and consists of a series of summer scientific internships for children and young people promoted by Ciência Viva.

In order to diversify its activities, CEI-Iscte teamed up with three other Iscte research units, proposing a joint internship centred on the challenges of 21st century society, with a multidisciplinary approach. Over the course of a week, between 8 and 12 July, the participants got a taste of how research can play an active role in identifying solutions, seeking not only to stimulate young people’s scientific creativity in the areas of Sociology, International Studies, Psychology and Digital Technologies, but also their ability to work as part of a team and make contact with specialists in these areas.
Nine students took part in the various activities, most notably the activity on Activism and Palestine, organised by CEI researcher Giulia Daniele and PhD students João Borralho and Sophia Kelsch, which was highly praised by the participants during the feedback session on the last day of the internship.
