Biographical Information

Joana Araújo Lopes holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, with a dissertation on Terrorism and counterterrorism: The influence of UN and European Union in the fight against radicalisation in France and United Kingdom (2001-2017)”. In 2015, she got her Bachelor’s degree from the same University. Previously she worked as intern in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Defence Institute. Her main research interests focus in international security, terrorism, violent extremism and radicalization. Currently, she holds a research doctoral fellowship from FCT.
