Biographical Information

Since 2008, Ana Larcher-Carvalho is a researcher at the Centro de Estudos Internacionais – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (CEI-IUL), Portugal. Her post-doctoral research is about the evaluation of international development. She is envolved in research projects, related to evaluations, studying the impact of external intervention on African societies, especially in the domain of human security and food security. She teaches in several subjects on issues related to the evaluation of projects. Since many years, Ana has been working as an international consultant on development projects for various international organizations, such as the United Nations, the African Development Bank, and the European Comission. In this context, she has been involved in different stages of the project cycles, ranging from identification to implementation and evaluation. Ana has been responsible for the assessment of various projects, and is experienced in organizing field missions, conducting consultations, and preparing reports in accordance with the respective specifications of the different donors.

Her work focuses on several African countries, including Burkina Faso, Mali, Ethiopia, Kenia, Tanzania, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique
