Abstract

This project’s goal is to identify how these advanced degree programs shape the personal projects of the graduates and how they impact the development of the PALOP, as well as to contribute a critical analysis of Portugal’s cooperation policy in the area of education.

Because advanced degrees are becoming increasingly instrumental in gaining access to leadership positions, the repercussions of the degree holders’ individual life choices reach a much larger scale when viewed in the context of collective action. There is fundamental need, therefore, for analysis of this relationship between higher education and agents of development, as well as of the problems raised by such a relationship, namely regarding the role of Portugal’s cooperation policy.
