Biographical Information

Diogo Bernardo Lemos has a Ph.D. in Political Science from the George Washington University (2017) and a M.Sc in Comparative Politics (Nationalism and Ethnicity stream) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2007). His research interests are democracy, ethnicity and political violence with a regional focus in India and Europe. He received a doctoral fellowship from the Fundacao para a Ciencia e Tecnologia. He also received a field research fellowship, and a summer grant for Asian language study in Asia, both from the Sigur Center for Asia Studies. He has participated on Al Jazeera’s ‘Inside Story’ and has published on the Monkey Cage at the Washington Post and Rising Powers Initiative blog. He was an affiliate at the Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences (BGSS) and the Political Science Department at the Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. He was also a Parliamentary Assistant to the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Mrs Rodi Kratsa, and an intern at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as well the Kingston Guardian (UK), Expresso (Portugal) and O Heraldo (Goa, India).
